SF Slams Farry's Subservient Attitude To Back To Work Schemes
Sinn Fein Employment and Learning Spokesperson, Barry McElduff has slammed Minister Farry's subservient attitude to back to work schemes which involve young people having to work for nothing to maintain benefits
Mr McElduff said: "Stephen Farry's comment that these schemes are identical to those operating in Britain and that if they are reappraised there, only then will he give consideration to change here is unacceptable.
"Stephen Farry and his Executive and Assembly colleagues are elected to better the lives of those who live in the North of Ireland and not to follow slavishly the dictates of Westminster politicians who have no interest in the welfare of citizens here.
"It is unacceptable that multi-national or any employer should be able to avail of free labour because of people’s unfortunate financial situation. If Employers have work available then they should be offering paid employment and not being subsidised through unacceptable Tory attacks on the unemployed."
