BELFAST FIRE DETECTION FIRM TARGETS ROI MARKET

CONTRACTS for two prestigious new hospitals are the latest in a line of successes for a growing fire detection and security company in Belfast.

Fire Security Ltd, which trades as Gent (NI), Gent (Ireland) and Gent (Isle of Man), is among product supply business Gent 24’s 50-strong UK network of approved system integrators.

The company has commissioned the fire detection system for the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine, while it has won the contract for the new Ballamona Hospital on the Isle of Man, which is set to open early in 2002. The Causeway has 235 beds and, valued at more than £50 million, is the focus of one of the largest single investments in health care in Northern Ireland.

Both hospitals will have Gent 24’s Vigilon analogue addressable fire detection system which is suitable for the most demanding of buildings.

Fire Security Ltd was created via a management buy-out two years ago and, since then, it has embarked upon a strategy of expansion into the Republic of Ireland. (MB)
