BASS TO DISTRIBUTE MAGNERS DRAUGHT CIDER IN C&C DEAL
CANTRELL and Cochrane, owners of Bulmers Ireland, have announced an exclusive agreement with Bass Ireland that will see Bass distribute Draught Magners Cider to Northern Ireland’s pubs and clubs.
The agreement, which took effect from 18 June 2001, allows Magners Draught to be rolled out to over 1,000 stockists within weeks through a major installation programme spearheaded by Bass Ireland’s Sales and Technical Service Team.
Magners cider has enjoyed huge success in Northern Ireland since it was launched in October 1999 and is widely acknowledged as the fastest growing cider brand in the province.
Norman Trotter, Sales Director for Cantrell and Cochrane in Northern Ireland said: “We are delighted that Bass Ireland will be handling Magners Draught in the Northern Ireland market and believe that together we can continue its phenomenal success. Bass are an established drink distributor in Northern Ireland and I believe that we could see stockists having Magners by the end of July.
“As part of the agreement Bass will also wholesale our packaged range of Magners Cider alongside our existing and valued wholesale partners, who have contributed to the success of the brand to date.” (AMcE)
