Man Dies In Co.Antrim House Fire
An elderly man has died in a house fire in County Antrim last night.
The man believed to be in sixties died when a fire broke out at his home on the Bush Road between Ballymoney and Dervock at around 9pm on Tuesday.
The Fire and Rescue Service have said that when crew arrived at the scene the fire was well developed and they had to enter the house using breathing apparatus.
Attempts to save the man, later discovered inside the house by firefighters, were made by local neighbours but they were beaten back by the extent of the blaze.
The Fire and Rescue Service are as yet not sure how the fire started but they do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances behind the blaze.

Man Charged After Glenarm Shooting
Detectives investigating the incident on Feystown Road on Monday, 25 November, have charged a 41-year-old man with attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and criminal damage. The accused is due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, 28 November.

The Home Fire Safety Check coincides with Fire Safety Week, which runs from September 30th to October 6th. The initiative aims to reduce the number of house fires in Northern Ireland.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.
