BALLYCASTLE BOMB ALERT DECLARED FALSE ALARM
POLICE have declared a suspicious device left outside a Ballycastle GAA club to be a hoax.
Following a telephone warning, a vehicle was found outside the GAA Club on the Leyland Road. Police carried out a controlled explosion, and declared the device to be a false alarm.
However, a second car, which had been abandoned outside another GAA Club in Armoy, County Antrim, was found to have contained two pipe bombs which had already exploded. British army bomb disposal experts were called in to deal with the incident, which occurred on the Glenshesk Road, and they confirmed that two devices had gone off inside the car. A telephone warning had also been given in advance of the incident.
The security alerts follow a similar series of disruptions following the discovery of numerous devices outside an Orange Hall and other locations in Maghera on Sunday 8 July.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.

Four Arrested Following Disorder In South Belfast
Four men have been arrested following public disorder incidents in the university area of south Belfast on Thursday, November 14th. Police responded to a number of offences, including resisting and obstructing police, and assault on police. Three men, aged 18, 20, and 21, have been charged and are due to appear in court in December.

A viable device found during a security alert in north Belfast is believed to be linked to a hate crime. Police and army bomb disposal experts attended the scene at Atlantic Avenue on Thursday, 25 August. A number of residents were evacuated from their homes, however they have since returned.
