Nine Charged With Selling Fake Goods

Nine people are due to appear in court charged with selling thousands of pounds worth of fake goods.

They were arrested as part of a PSNI operation against the sale of fake goods at Clogher Market last November.

The nine accused face a total of 118 charges of trading in counterfeit products and infringing copyright.

Rupee Majeed, 39, and Tariq Majeed, 40, from Ballymahon, Longford each face 16 charges of selling fake clothes.

Mohammed Ushan Iqbal, 28, and Rehan Arshad, 19, from Don Darragh, Longford face 24 and 18 charges respectively of selling fake clothes.

Kashif Saddique, 29, from Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim faces four charges of selling fake Adidas and McKenzie Clothing.

Mohammed Iqbal, 58, from Ballynamoney Heights, Lurgan is charged with 24 counts of selling fake clothes.

Mary Duffield, 58, from Kilmacrannell, Lisnaskea and Ellen Leonard, 40, of Creevanmore Meadows, Omagh each face six charges of selling counterfeit jewellery.

Sabrina Nethercott, 31, from Camphill Park, Newtownbutler, was charged with four counts of selling fake DVDs and a CD.

The clothes bore trademarks from brands including Nike, Cantabury, and Ralf Lauren. Fake jewellery was labelled as Links of London, Thomas Sabo and Tiffany & Co.

The man is accused of assault causing harm, coercive control, contravention of a safety order, theft, and possession of a weapon. Suspected Counterfeit Goods Seized In L'Derry
The PSNI's District Support Team (DST) has conducted a number of searches in L'Derry early today, Wednesday, 31 May. The searches were conducted with support of Tactical Support Group colleagues. A number of items were seized during the searches, including suspected counterfeit clothes and jewellery. A sum of cash was also seized.

Man arrested over Electoral Office fraud
A 58-year-old man from Co Tyrone has been arrested and charged following a police investigation into irregularities at an Electoral Office in the west of the province. The man was charged with 30 offences, 17 of which relate to theft and 13 of fake accounting. He will appear before a court in Omagh on November 11.

Woman Scammed Out Of Over £4,000 On Fake Used Car Website
A woman from Belfast has been scammed of over £4,000 on a fake used car sales website. The 32-year-old victim was caught out when she bought a 2012 Ford Focus she saw on a used car sales website of a business claiming to be based in England. She spoke online with the business before agreeing to make a bank transfer payment of £4,200.
