Man Attacked In County Antrim
A man has been beaten with a curtain pole during an attack in Antrim. The attack happened in Bridge Street early on Sunday morning. The 36-year-old was set upon by a gang of men behind a Chinese takeaway in Bridge Street on Easter Sunday. It is understood he was also attacked with a brush shaft during the assault which happened shortly before 1am. The man suffered injuries to his head and arm, and cuts and bruises to his face. Police have appealed for anyone who saw the attack to contact them.
38 Million Cigarettes Intercepted At Dublin Port
Dublin Port customers officers have seized 38 million cigarettes with a retail value of €14.7m. The cigarettes filled four 40-foot shipping containers and represented a potential loss to the Exchequer of €13.1m. Each container carried around 9.5m of the "Golden Eagiie" brand cigarettes, which originated in Vietnam and arrived into Dublin Port via Rotterdam. The containers cargo was listed as "wood briquettes". Mr Twohig said that investigations are at an early stage, and it could be a number of months before there is significant progress. No arrests have yet been made, but several individuals were interviewed, documents were seized, and a premises was searched.
Teen Escapes Hydebank
An 18-year-old man has went missing from Hydebank young offenders' centre in Belfast, police have confirmed. Barry Black, from the Dungannon area of Co Tyrone, has been missing since Friday 6 April. He is described as being 6ft tall and of a medium build. He has fair hair, green eyes and tattoos on each hand. A police spokesperson said:"He is not considered to pose a direct risk to the public." Anyone with information is asked to contact the PSNI on 0845 600 8000.

Searches of seven shops in the city uncovered almost 30,000 cigarettes and 20 kilograms of tobacco, along with other counterfeit goods and mobile phones.

Almost Five Million Cigarettes Seized By Police
A significant haul of nearly five million cigarettes and almost 700kg of tobacco has been seized as part of a major operation by police and customs officers in Northern Ireland. The illicit material, worth an estimated £1.9m in duty and taxes that would have been lost, was uncovered during searches in the Banbridge, Carryduff and Ballyclare areas.
