Pensioner Escapes Arson Attack

Two men have been arrested in County Antrim on suspicion of arson.

The 21 and 20-year-olds were detained in connection with the incident which happened in the Market Street area at around 12pm on Friday last.

A pensioner was left to escape the arson attack on her Ballycastle home, it has been reported.

It is understood that passersbys helped the 65-year-old lady escape the property after a burning rag was put into the letterbox.

The woman was not hurt but the front door of her property was badly damaged and the rest of the house was smoke damaged.

The accused duo have been released on bail pending further investigation but they face possible charges of arson and endangering life.
