Three Suspected Dissidents Arrested
Police investigating dissident republican activity have arrested two men in County Tyrone. The men, aged 37 and 38, were detained in Cookstown on Tuesday morning.They have been taken to Antrim PSNI station for questioning. The arrests were made by detectives from the Serious Crime Branch. Meanwhile, a 39-year-old man has been arrested in north Belfast as part of an investigation into dissident republicans.
Ulster Carpets Secure International Contract
Ulster Carpets has secured a prestigious international contract to supply more than 11,000 sq metres of carpet to the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai. The contract was announced during a visit by Executive Ministers to Buri Al Arab, which is considered the world’s most luxurious hotel. Ulster Carpets manufactured and supplied Axminster Carpet to the Burj Al Arab, part of the Jumeirah Group, during its initial construction 12 years ago for all the guest corridors and guest suites. Now during its first phase of refurbishment, they have manufactured a further 11,775sqm of Axminster Carpet for the guest suites at their world renowned design and manufacturing facility in Portadown. This luxury carpet will be supplied through and installed by M.T.E Middle East.
UK House Prices Rise
In the year to February 2012, UK house prices increased by 0.3 per cent, according to the Office of National Statistics (ONS). The average UK mix-adjusted house price was £224,473. Average house prices increased in both England and Scotland by 0.4 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively. These increases were offset by decreases in Wales, where average prices decreased by 0.5 per cent, and Northern Ireland, where average prices fell by 9.7 per cent over the year. The annual increase in average house prices in England was driven by increases in both London and the South East, where prices increased over the year by 1.7 per cent and 1.2 per cent respectively. Prices of new dwellings rose by 7.7 per cent during the 12 months to February 2012, while the price of pre-owned dwellings decreased by 0.2 per cent in the same period.

NI Tops UK Worries Poll For Money And Families
People in the Northern Ireland are more concerned about money than anywhere else in the country according to Samaritans' annual worries survey 2012. An exclusive YouGov poll for Samaritans shows that 66 per cent of Northern Irish people placed worries about money in their top five, and 17 per cent above the UK average.

Report shows Catholics finding it harder to get a job
A government survey has shown that more Catholics find it harder to get a job than Protestants. The report, based on the 2000-2001 Labour Force survey, published by the Government Statistics and Research Agency shows the employment characteristics of Protestants and Roman Catholics in Northern Ireland.
