Anti-Semitic Bullying Condemned
The DUP's North Antrim MLA and Chair of the All Party Group for Ethnic Minority Communities David McIlveen has condemned reports that a 14-year-old boy from Carrickfergus was subjected to anti-semitic comments.
Commenting Mr McIlveen said: "I am deeply disturbed by these news reports. Such attitudes and racist abuse has no place in this society and most certainly not in our school corridors. Northern Ireland has an established Jewish community who make a significant contribution to life in this country.
"I want to see a Northern Ireland which is welcoming to everyone regardless of their ethnic background. I'm glad the police are investigating this intolerance and bullying. I trust those responsible will be made amenable for their despicable behaviour."
