New 'Beat The Recession' Initiative Launched
A new project, to help those who have lost their jobs and fallen into debt is expected to be launched later.
Led by The Citizen’s Advice Bureau, the Beat the Recession project, will help make information and services more visible and accessible for the growing number of people having financial difficulties.
It is being supported by Advice NI, the Law Centre and the Big Lottery Fund.
The project makes more free independent information and advice available for people affected by the recession and offers debt and money advice in new locations across Northern Ireland such as community venues and places of employment.
The project supports people and families struggling financially because of loss of income and changed circumstances as a result of the recession.
Project co-ordinator Rachael Cray said:"We realise that times are tough at the moment and people need all the help they can get."
