Carrickfergus Company In US Business Breakthrough
Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI Trade Director, and Kyle Gallagher, Managing Director, The Luxury Planter Collection, pictured with one of the Carrickfergus company’s planters used to manage cigarette waste.
Carrickfergus-based The Luxury Planter Collection is being assisted by Invest Northern Ireland to develop its international exports.
The company has analysed various markets including the Baltics and the US in terms of sales opportunities.
As a result of the analysis, the company is keen to exploit the identified US opportunities further and has been assisted by Invest NI to take part in this week’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York to build on initial sales in the US of its range of luxury planters.
Innovative planters are already being supplied by this small NI company to a number of US customers, including a health clinic in Reno, Nevada and a leading hotel in Manhattan, New York. While in the US the company also hopes to confirm a partnership to distribute the planters through design retailers in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and DC.
Support for the company to take part in the international exhibition, which is being held in the Jacob Javits Convention Centre, New York, from 17-22st May, was announced by Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI Trade Director, and welcomed by Kyle Gallagher, Managing Director of The Luxury Planter Collection.
Dr Kell said: “The company is taking advantage of our exhibition support that encourages and enables local businesses to market their products at major niche international exhibitions. This helps them in marketing their products, gaining feedback from potential customers and in keeping abreast of trends and developments within their industry.
“While we have a programme of exhibitions in our Trade Calendar we assist companies, such as The Luxury Planter Collection, to take part individually in niche events relevant to their business.
“The company clearly has established a presence in the US with two contracts. Participating in the show will enable it to follow up and build on this business.”
