Corick House Hotel To Get Major Expansion
Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has announced that Corick House hotel in Co Tyrone is investing £1.4million in a major expansion supported by Invest Northern Ireland.
Corick House is a 17th-century William and Mary style country house situated in Clogher valley. It is planning to add 24 double en-suite bedrooms, bringing capacity to 43 bedrooms, as well as a spa/leisure facility. Invest NI has offered £230,000 of support.
Arlene Foster said: “This investment will enable Corick House to significantly increase revenue by attracting more visitors from outside Northern Ireland to stay in the hotel.
“With visitor numbers expected to increase sharply this year as a result of the Our Time Our Place programme of events, local tourism related businesses have the opportunity to step up to the mark and develop world class facilities that will deliver a top quality visitor experience which will keep people coming back.
“The assistance offered by Invest Northern Ireland means this expansion will be able to go ahead quickly, delivering high quality facilities in an area where there is increased market demand.”
The investment is expected to create seven new jobs at the hotel, which currently employs 25, as well as generating work for local tradesmen during the construction phase.
