35 New Jobs For Cork Welcomed
Seán Sherlock T.D., Minister for Research and Innovation, today welcomed the announcement by online games developer Red 5 Studios that it will establish its European Headquarters in Cork leading to the creation of 30 jobs high quality jobs for the region.
The Minister said: "Today's announcement is further proof that Ireland is seen as a gateway to Europe by companies looking to expand their international operations. One of the key goals of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs is to further the growth of the digital games sector in Ireland and double employment from 2, 500 to 5,000 by 2014.
"This announcement reflects the Government’s commitment to getting our people back to work by increasing the number of multinationals based in Ireland and by expanding the operations of those already based here," Minister Sherlock added.

120 New Jobs Created In New BT Contact Centre
Northern Ireland has been chosen as the location for a state-of-the-art contact centre, creating around 120 new jobs. Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster and Employment and Learning Minister, Dr Stephen Farry today announced the major investment by BT which is being supported by Invest Northern Ireland through funding of £568,000 under its Jobs Fund.

Offshore Company Axes Jobs
Around 150 jobs in Aberdeen and Dundee have been axed after an offshore services company ceased trading. Oceanteam Power and Umbilical has been forced to close when the firm's holding company withdrew its financial support. Staff are based in Aberdeen, at workshops in Dundee and offshore.
