Stormont Party For Queen's Visit
A party for ten thousand people will be held in the grounds of Stormont when the Queen visits Belfast.
The party will be thrown on June 27, during her Diamond Jubilee visit, to mark her 60 years on the throne.
Queen Elizabeth II is due to arrive on June 26 and has plans to visit County Fermanagh.
Tickets for the public will be free and details of their distribution will be announced next week.
The Northern Ireland Office has announced that representatives from youth organisations, the emergency services, government departments, local councils, health trusts, ex-service associations as well as education and library boards will be specifically invited.
MLAs including First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness are expected to be present at the party in the lawns and wooded estate surrounding the parliament buildings.
Therre has been speculation that Martin McGuinness, a Sinn Fein MP and former IRA commander, may shake hands with the Queen.
Sinn Fein MPs do not take their seats in the UK House of Commons because they refuse to swear an oath of allegiance to the Queen.
But Mr McGuinness has said he is Deputy First Minister of all of Northern Ireland and recognizes that many of the population hold the Queen in high regard.
