County Down Crash Kills Young Woman
A 26-year-old pedestrian has been killed in a weekend car crash
Danielle McKenna, from the Portaferry, was killed when she was hit by a car at about 3am on Sunday.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested.
The accident happened on the Rowreagh Road outside Kircubbin in County Down.
Armed Robbery In Belfast
A man threatened a shop worker with a knife and made off with money from the till in the Cregagh Road area of Belfast.
The attack happened at about 9pm last Tuesday (June 5).
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious, on 0845 600 8000 (Musgrave Police Station) or anonymously through Crimestoppers – 0800 555 111.
Students' Charity Bonanza
Belfast students have presented cheques for £20,000 to charity at an event in the Queen's Students' Union.
The Volunteering Excellency Awards on Friday night were laid on to celebrate the positive contribution students make to Northern Irish society.
The union’s RAG fundraising group presented cheques to Autism NI, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, The Stroke Association and Youthlife.
Those selected for awards included Students in Free Enterprise, who brought school students together to encourage enterprise, with product sales reaching £9,000, and Amy Keegan from the RAG society, who climbed Kilimanjaro to raise money.

Northern Ireland students have outperformed their peers in England and Wales in both A-level and the new AS level exams. Figures released by the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) on Thursday August 16 show a record 48,000 grades have been issued to Northern Ireland students across all exam boards.

Rise In Number Of GCSE Students Achieving A*- C Grades
There has been a significant increase in the number of GCSE students achieving the A*- C grades. The proportion of entries awarded A* - C grades has risen by 0.7% this year to 78.7% Education Minister, John O'Dowd, congratulated the students and said they should be proud of all their hard work.
