Mauritius Jury Visits Legends Hotel
The jury and two accused in the Michaela McAreavey murder trial have visited the hotel where she was killed.
Security was tight around the Lux hotel, which was called Legends in January last year when Mrs McAreavey was found strangled in her honeymoon suite.
The jury was taken to various locations, including the couple’s bedroom and the pool-side restaurant where they ate lunch shortly before the 27-year-old was killed.
Avinash Treebhoowoon, 30, and Sandip Moneea, 42, deny murder.
The trial continues and the defence team is due to begin calling its witnesses on Thursday.
Unclaimed £4.4m Lottery Prize
A multi-million pound National Lottery prize has not been claimed more than two weeks after it was won.
Lottery players are being asked to check their tickets from the Lotto draw of Saturday June 2.
The winning ticket was bought in County Down and the numbers were 16, 18, 20, 25, 29 and 34, with a bonus ball of 15.
The prize will expire on November 29 if it is not claimed by then.
Burglar Got Stuck In Doorframe
A would-be burglar in Strabane was caught at the scene of the crime when his arm was jammed into a door frame.
A son-in-law of the householders, who were threatened with violence during the burglary, trapped the man until the police arrived.
Simon Timoney from Patrick Street in the north-western town was jailed for six years after admitting attempted robbery, aggravated burglary and common assault.
Londonderry Crown Court heard that Timoney was not the prime mover in the break-in, during which the homeowners' daughter was tied up with cable and another burglar threatened to break the family members' bones starting with their fingers unless they gave information about the family safe.
