Teenager Stole From Grandmother's Account
A teenager stole his grandmother's bank card and withdrew £285 from her account.
When Josephine Lanighan noticed the card was missing last month she contacted her grandson William Paul Crozier (19).
She asked him about the card as she was aware he knew her PIN number.
But despite having made at least three unauthorised withdrawals, he only admitted theft when the police began their investigations.
Ms Lanighan also contacted her bank when her debit card went missing on May 15.
It was disclosed in court that Ms Lanighan had withdrawn her complaint, but Mr Crozier was sentenced to six months’ probation because he had already pleaded guilty.
A prosecution lawyer acknowledged: "The defendant stated he was sorry for taking the card and money."
And a defence solicitor confirmed that Mr Crozier had arranged to repay his grandmother.
The solicitor said: "He has mended his relationship with his grandmother."
District Judge Fiona Bagnall said she wanted to keep sentencing "to a minimum" because of the early guilty plea.

The JAM Card allows anyone with a learning difficulty, autism or communication barrier to tell others discreetly and easily they need 'Just A Minute'.

Warning Issued After Thousands Lost To Gift Card Scam
The PSNI have issued a warning after a L'Derry resident lost thousands of pounds in a gift card scam. According to police, the person was contacted online and told that they had won money. They were told they needed to send online gift cards to verify themselves. This continued for some time before the scam was spotted and stopped.

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.
