Machete Threat During Robbery
A woman has been threatened with a machete during a handbag robbery in West Belfast.
The 22-year-old was walking up steps on Glencolin Way at about 12.45am on Sunday when the attack happened.
She gave her handbag over to the man with the machete, who was described as being about 21 years old, 5ft 6ins tall, with a Belfast accent and a spiked dirty fair fringe.
He was wearing a blue top and dark tracksuit bottoms.
Sandy Row Mural Painted Over To Boost Business Image
An iconic south Belfast paramilitary mural is being painted over by contractors from the Housing Executive, in a bid to improve the area’s image.
The UFF mural featuring the slogan "You Are Now Entering Loyalist Sandy Row" will be replaced by a portrait of William of Orange.
Talks with the local community have gone on for the past year, and businessmen told paramilitaries the mural was having a negative effect on businesses in nearby office complexes.
The UFF was disbanded five years ago.
Pellet Gun Attack Hits OAP
An 85-year-old woman has been treated for injuries sustained when she was hit in the head by a pellet.
Police said it was the latest in a strand of similar pellet gun attacks and an investigation is under way.
A 17-year-old man has been arrested.
The pensioner was struck as she arrived at the Mater Hospital on Belfast's Crumlin Road at about 7pm on Sunday (June 24) to visit a relative.

Controversial UVF Mural Completed
A new paramilitary mural has been completed in east Belfast, despite a public outcry. The mural, which is located at Inverwood Court, Sydenham, depicts a masked gunman and it dedicated to the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF), which murdered more than 500 people during the Troubles. It replaced a mural of the Belfast-born footballer George Best.

A paramilitary mural in west Belfast that shows gunmen firing shots over a coffin draped in an Irish tricolour has been condemned. The image has appeared at Slemish Way off the Andersonstown Road.

UVF Mural Painted Over George Best Image
Alliance Belfast Councillor Andrew Webb has said that the painting of a UVF mural over an image of George Best is a backwards step. Belfast City Council contributed public money towards the George Best mural at Inverwood Court in East Belfast three years ago.
