Ballymurphy Alert 'Elaborate Hoax'
A suspicious device which forced residents of west Belfast to evacuate their homes overnight has been declared an elaborate hoax.
Some people were put up overnight at Whiterock Community Centre when houses in Springhill Rise were evacuated shortly after 2am today.
After army bomb experts examined the device, these people have been allowed to go home.
Revamp For County Tyrone Leisure Centre
Work is to start within the next two weeks on refurbishment works at Derg Valley Leisure Centre.
The £558,000 upgrade will include a new gym and fitness centre, a group fitness room and classes and another room for birthday parties.
Strabane District Council announced that the leisure centre will close tomorrow and customers could use Riversdale Leisure Centre until the revamped centre opens next year.
Vandals Delay Hotel Re-Opening
A break-in and vandalism at a closed hotel in Ballycastle has delayed its re-opening as doors were smashed open, shampoo was sprayed over walls and a waterbed was burst.
The new owners of the Marine Hotel said some beds even looked like they had been slept in.
It is not the first break-in and vandalism at the hotel, and dims hopes of it being open again by the end of the month.
The purchasers said they are working "24/7" to get the hotel open again, and although "disheartened and demotivated" they have had a high level of interest from tour operators, potential wedding parties and people looking for jobs.
