Paralympic Torch To Visit Belfast
The Olympics are done and dusted.
Medals have been lost and won, reputations made and sport has become the centre of conversations and viewing schedules around the world.
Next come the Paralympics.
The Paralympic Torch will come to Belfast on August 25 to visit communities across the city ahead of an evening lantern parade from the Waterfront to City Hall.
The Paralympic cauldron will then be lit at the City Hall, and after three days the flame will travel to Stoke Mandeville, birthplace of the Paralympic movement, to be joined with flames from London, Cardiff and Edinburgh for a 24-hour relay, ending at the Paralympic Opening Ceremony on August 29.
A special free ticketed event (sponsored by Games partners BT and Sainsbury's) will be staged in the grounds of City Hall on Saturday August 25 from 6.30pm - 9.40pm with a packed programme of activity and entertainment. This will include performances by Luminous Soul and the Open Arts Choir; music and dance showcases; displays by Disability Sports NI and the showcasing of the Paralympic Agitos at the front of the City Hall.

It follows a protest outside Belfast City Hall last week by the St Patrick's Carnival Committee who claim the Council isn't funding this year's event at the City Hall.

DfI Outlines Congestion Mitigation Measures In Belfast City Centre
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has announced a series of measures aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in Belfast City Centre. A strategic oversight group, comprising the DfI, Belfast City Council, PSNI, and Translink, has been formed to identify and implement effective solutions to reduce peak-time delays.
