Michaela McAreavey: Police Ask For More Time To Investigate Security Guard
Police in Mauritius who are re-investigating the murder of Michaela McAreavey have asked for more time to examine evidence connected to a former security guard at the hotel where she was killed.
Dassen Naraynen, 27, appeared in court today accused of conspiracy to commit larceny (theft).
He was originally charged with murder but those charges have been dropped.
Mr Naraynen denies larceny and any link to Mrs McAreavey's murder.
The County Tyrone teacher was found strangled in her honeymoon suite in the Legends Hotel on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius in January last year.
Last month, two former hotel workers were cleared of her murder and police on the island started a new investigation.
In court today, detectives asked for more time to search for evidence and complete their investigation into Mr Naraynen.
