Iraq team pull out of Special Olympics
The Iraqi Special Olympics team has confirmed that it will not be taking part this summer's games in Ireland.
The news has come as a blow to the town of Larne who were set to host the Iraqi team during their stay.
Larne mayor Bobby McKee said the town's council was informed of the decision on Monday night by fax.
It said the team may reconsider its decision if the situation improves in the Middle East or if war ends.
The Special Olympics are scheduled to be held in Dublin this June.

First Special Olympics Ulster Event Held In Three Years
Communities Minister has welcomed the return of the first Special Olympics Ulster event in three years, with athletes 'going for gold' at Antrim Forum. More than 80 athletes competed in the two-day track and field events and were supported by a team of volunteers, coaches and family, who Minister Hargey thanked for their dedication.

Three Ballymena Special Schools to amalgamate
The government has today revealed that three Special Schools in the Ballymena area are to amalgamate. The schools - Beechgrove Special School, Dunfane Special School and Loughan Special School will amalgamate on the former site of Ballymena Boys' and Girls' Schools on completion of a new building.
