New Marketing Support To Boost Exports To Turkey
Invest Northern Ireland has lined up experienced marketing support in Turkey to help local companies to win more business in a developing marketplace that straddles Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
The appointment of Istanbul-based market advisers, Expatia, was announced by Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI Trade Director, at the start of a 15-strong trade mission to Turkey.
The companies in the delegation, the biggest ever from Northern Ireland to this market, will be meeting existing and potential customers in Istanbul and other business centres in Turkey this week.
Dr Kell said: "The appointment of trade advisers in Turkey is the latest initiative in our strategic focus on expanding on the ground support for our companies in global markets.
"Turkey is becoming a significant marketplace for European exporters. It is a market of 73 million people which is continuing to show significant growth and is now one of the biggest economies within the European Union. It is also ranked as the world’s 16th biggest economy.
"Expatia will work with our companies and the Invest NI Trade team to help companies to gain a better understanding of the Turkish marketplace. The advisers will also help companies to win business by generating leads and other practical support in areas such as translating documents into Turkish and providing interpreters, when requested, to attend meetings along with company representatives.
"The advisers have extensive experience gained assisting companies, particularly small and medium sized enterprises, to enter this important global market successfully."
