Final Whistle brings Giant success

The Belfast Giants are celebrating their first Superleague play-off title today after beating London Knights 5-3 in Nottingham yesterday.

It was the perfect tonic for manager Dave Whistle who now leaves to go and manage German side Iserlohn Roosters next season.

Kory Karlander, Shane Johnson, Ryan Kuwabara and London's unfortunate Dave Matsos were the goal-scoring heroes for the Giants.

It followed Saturday's win over Sheffield Steelers, as they relinquished their seemingly irreversible hold on the Superleague play-off trophy with a penalty shoot-out win.
