Mother Released On Bail After Boy Is Found On Fire
The mother of a four-year-old boy who sustained severe burns after his clothes were on fire in Ballymena has been released on police bail.
The 28-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the incident which occurred on Friday.
The boy was found by a woman who was passing him at the time on the Larne Road.
It is believed the boy was in a house close by where a candle caused his clothes to catch fire.
He is currently in the Royal Victoria Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.

Detectives have renewed an appeal for information following a deliberate arson attack at a vacant property in the Weaver's Grange area of Newtownards. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 17 November, 2023. Police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 12:40am.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

The Home Fire Safety Check coincides with Fire Safety Week, which runs from September 30th to October 6th. The initiative aims to reduce the number of house fires in Northern Ireland.
