17 NI Projects Awarded £142,000 By Heritage Lottery Fund
17 different project in NI will receive a total of £142,000 from the All Our Stories programme of the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The money has been awarded to projects ranging from the history of the Irish Trade Union movement to a century of boxing in Banbridge.
With grants ranging in size from £3,000 up to £10,000, the scheme is designed to get thousands more people involved in exploring local history.
Paul Mullan, head of the Heritage Lottery Fund Northern Ireland, said it had been "bowled over by the response to All Our Stories".
"We're looking forward to hearing more about the colourful stories that emerge; they will create a unique picture of our local communities and these islands as a whole at an important time in our history," he said.

The long-term future of the HMS Caroline visitor attraction has been secured in Belfast, Economy Minister Gordon Lyons has announced, following an agreement with key partners the National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) and The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The historic attraction will no remain in Belfast until at least 2038.

Templemore Baths Restoration To Get Underway
Work has gotten underway on a £17 million restoration and expansion of Templemore Baths in east Belfast. Templemore is the sole surviving Victorian public baths on the island of Ireland and one of the few remaining in the United Kingdom that still delivers its original function, with most of its original interior fabric and fittings intact.

A new project is set to reflect on the experiences of the LGBT community during the period when homosexuality was a criminal offence in Northern Ireland. Homosexuality was not decriminalised in Northern Ireland until 1982, 15 years after the legislation was passed in England.
