Garvaghy Road Resurfacing Plans Confirmed
A £250,000 resurfacing scheme is to begin on the Garvaghy Road in Portadown.
The work is due for completion by the end of March.
The new facility will enable Translink to extend the existing Metro 81/A and 82/A services.
The routes currently terminate on the Glen Road at Glencolin, however, once work is finished they will extend to serve an additional 215 homes in Hawthorn Glen and businesses in Work West Enterprise Park, Hannahstown Business Park and the Social Economy Village.
Danny Kennedy said: "Providing this new bus turning facility will mean an extension of the well served route and increase the numbers of opportunities for commuters and shoppers to travel to the city centre by bus.
"Residents of Hawthorn Glen will benefit from around 30 bus services every working day. The extended route will also provide a convenient service for those people working in the area."
