Teenagers 'Banned' From Donegal

Two teenagers from L’Derry have been banned from returning to County Donegal.

The two young men were arrested following an alleged theft on Sunday, according to BBC Northern Ireland.

They both appeared at Letterkenny District Court on Monday. Neither of the suspects can be named for legal reasons.

Police told the court the pair were arrested in Bridgend at 08:45 on Sunday.

They were charged on suspicion of theft and criminal damage at Buncrana Garda Station.

The arrests followed an incident at an Eircom depot in Bridgend in Donegal.

A police car was rammed and two officers were injured in the incident. The officers’ injuries are thought to be only minor.

The mother of one of the suspects is reported to have wept during the hearing.

But the court also heard that one of the teenagers said he was "sorry" when charged with the offences on Sunday afternoon.

Bail was granted and the pair were released on their own bonds of 250 euros.

Solicitors Patsy Gallagher and Frank Dorrian were representing the two teenagers.

They agreed their clients would stay out of Donegal, except for court appearances.

The suspects will appear before Buncrana District Court on 14 February.
