POPfest extravaganza moves to Waterfront Hall
The upcoming ‘POPfest’ concert has been moved from the Odyssey Arena to Belfast’s Waterfront Hall.
The massive event, planned for Thursday April 24th, has become the largest-ever pop event to be held at the Waterfront Hall venue, and Belfast city is now gearing up to welcome some of the biggest names in the UK and Irish pop scene over the Easter Holidays.
Atomic Kitten, Busted, Harvey from So Solid Crew, Six, D Side, Femme Fatale and Sharon Louise Geddis will perform at the concert, which is to be televised on Channel 4’s T4 and reported in Smash Hits. Harvey from So Solid Crew will also host the show, alongside Cool FM’s Paul Kennedy.
Promoters have said ticket holders will have their Odyssey tickets exchanged for Waterfront Hall tickets on the night. Doors will now open at 6pm.
Tickets are still available for the event priced £25 from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide (0870 2434455), Odyssey Box Office (028 9073 9074) and now the Waterfront Hall (028 9033 4455).

Sparkling Rachel Stevens is inviting everyone to “come and get it” when she lights up Belfast’s Christmas season next week. The chart-topping singer will join the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Wallace Browne, to switch on the city’s Christmas lights next Tuesday evening (November 22).

Belfast is set to host the 34th World Irish Dancing Championships - Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne - in April. The event, which is being staged at the Waterfront Hall and was last staged in the city in 2000, is expected to attract more than 4,000 dancers to compete in 35 competitions over eight days, from April 4-11.

Jobs fears as Waterfront Hall to trims posts
Eleven posts at Belfast's Waterfront Hall are to be relocated after Belfast City Council today revealed efficiency plans for the venue. The move is part of plans to increase opportunities for national and international conference planners and concert and event promoters.

World Irish Dancing Championship commences in Belfast
Around 12,000 people are set to diverge on Belfast this week as the World Irish Dancing Championship takes place in the city. The eight-day event, which began at the Waterfront Hall on Sunday, will see almost 4,000 competitors from across the world compete in different age groups.
