New Technology Helps Meta Firms Boost Sales
Invest Northern Ireland has assisted the development of meatconnected.com, a new and unique online business-to-business networking, trading and information system for the meat industry.
The innovative system has been developed by Roger McCracken, a Londonderry businessman with extensive experience in the meat processing industry. It aims is to provide a range of tools to professionals in the meat industry to help them in their day-to-day activities. Invest NI has provided assistance towards the start up of the business and development of the website.
Support for the new technology development was announced by Des Gartland, Manager of Invest NI's North West Regional Office in Derry, who said: “This new website development could help meat processing, one of our biggest industries, to grow sales particularly in markets outside Northern Ireland. Our support has enabled the company to bring the innovative technology to market.
"What meatconnected.com offers meat companies is an easy way to meet, connect with and, above all, trade with other businesses in an immensely important industry.
"The opportunity it provides has already won significant support and more than 250 professionals from major meat companies all over the world to have signed up for the new system. They include ABP Food Group, Nippon Meat Packers, Hilton Food Group, Danish Crown, Tesco, Woodhead/Morrisons, Greencore, Dutch Grill Specialities, Dunbia, Foyle Food Group, Goodmeat B.V., Samworth Brothers, Jean Floc'h and many more."
