Sports Journalist Malcolm Brodie Dies
Renowned former sports editor of the Belfast Telegraph, Malcolm Brodie, has died.
Mr Brodie began his career at the Portadown News, before moving to the Belfast Telegraph in 1943, where he worked for more than five decades.
Brodie, who grew up in Scotland, was instrumental in establishing the paper’s sports department.
He reported at 14 World Cups and his contribution to sports journalism was recognised by football's world governing body, FIFA.
He was made an honorary life member of the Belfast Telegraph, wrote a history of the newspaper and was also awarded an MBE for services to journalism.
