Ballynahinch Cannabis Factory uncovered
Downpatrick CID detectives have uncovered a cannabis factory following the search of a property in the Drumkeeragh Road area of Ballynahinch on 7 February.
Cannabis plants estimated to be worth in excess of £180,000 were recovered.
Police have reminded owners or renters of property to check their premises regularly and contact police if they become aware of any suspicous or untoward activity.
Anyone with information in relation to the incident is asked to contact detectives in Downpatrick on 0845 600 8000. The independent charity Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Appeal Over Tates Avenue Robbery
Detectives are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a commercial premises in the Tates Avenua area of south Belfast on 7 February.
The incident occurred at about 20:50 when police received a report that premises had been robbed by a man brandishing a knife.
The man demanded money from an employee before making off with a sum of money and a quantity of cigarettes.
He is described as being approximately 5'7"/5'9" tall and of slim build.
There were two members of staff in the premises at the time.
They were not injured but were left badly shaken.
Detectives have asked anyone with information to contact them at Musgrave on 0845 600 8000.
Armagh Car Crash Victim Named
A man who died in a car crash in County Armagh on Thursday has been named as John Hills, 65, from Poyntzpass.
A woman in her 30s was injured in the collision, which involved a van and a car.
It occurred at 17:45 at Tandragee Road, Poyntzpass.
She was taken to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Belfast Families Evacuated In Security Alert
A number of families had to evacuate their homes on Thursday evening following a security alert.
A suspicious object was discovered at Kitchener Street off the Donegall Road.
Army bomb experts were called to the scene.
Residents have been allowed to return to their homes.

South Belfast Cannabis Haul Uncovered
Police smashed a Belfast cannabis factory during a raid in the south of the city yesterday. Detectives seized substances with an estimated street value of £300,000 from a property on the Upper Malone area. A PSNI spokesman said no arrests were made following the search. He said inquiries surrounding the house on the Finaghy Road South are ongoing.

The incident happened on the Cavehill Road on Tuesday 02 December at around 6pm. A man entered an off licence and struck a till with a hammer. He made off empty handed and no-one was injured in the incident.

An elderly couple were subjected to a terrifying ordeal last night when two masked men forced their way into their Bellaghy home. One of the men brandishing a handgun forced his way past the pensioner as he opened the door to his home on the Drenan Road, near Bellaghy, at around 7.30pm.
