Police Appeal Over Whitehead Armed Robbery

The PSNI is appealing for information regarding an armed robbery at a convenience store on Edward road, Whitehead, County Antrim.

At about 21.20 on Saturday 9 February a masked man entered the shop with a firearm in his possession.

He took a quantity of cigarettes and made off, turning right outside the shop.

The male is described as being in his 20s or 30s, approximately 5ft 6in tall, of slim build and wearing a dark jacket, balaclava, gloves and jeans.

Police are appealing for anyone who has any information to contact them on 0845 600 8000. The independent Crimestoppers charity can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.

60-Year-Old Shot In West Belfast

A 60-year-old man has been shot in west Belfast in the Irwell Court area of the City on the evening of Friday 8 February.

The shooting happened at about 18:50 when the man answered a knock to his door and was confronted by two men who pushed him inside and shot him in the leg.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact CID in Grosvenor Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000.

'Serious' Assault At Newtownards Bus Station

An assault described as "serious" by the PSNI has occurred at Regent Street Bus Station, Newtownards, County Down, during the early hours of Sunday 10 February.

Between 04:20 and 08:00 a 16-year-old male was assaulted by two other males. The teenager has been taken to hospital.

A 17-year-old male and 18-year-old male have been arrested and are currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or has information in relation to it to contact them on 0845 6008 000. Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.

Man Sprayed In Ormeau Road Attack

Detectives in South Belfast are appealing for information following an attack and robbery in the Ormeau Road area of Belfast on the morning of Saturday 9 February.

At approximately 10:00 a man aged in his 60s was robbed by two males.

The man was hit over the head and had an unknown substance sprayed on his face.

He has been taken to hospital for treatment but it is thought the sprayed substance is not threatening.

One of the robbers is described as being in his 20s and was wearing a red and white top. The two males made off in the direction of St Johns Avenue with a sum of cash.

Police are investigating after a shop in Newry was robbed at knifepoint on Saturday evening. The incident occurred around 5.20pm on 18 January when a man entered a store on Stream Street. He threatened a member of staff with a knife and demanded they open the till. After taking a sum of cash, the robber fled the scene on foot.
