Lurgan Children Found With Stun Gun

Police were called in Lurgan on Saturday after two children were seen playing with a stun gun they had found.

The two children, both eight years old, found the device under a hedge row in the Mourne Road area on Friday.

An adult took the weapon away from them. Police later confirmed it was a rechargeable stun gun. It was disposed of after the incident.

Stolen Car Collides With Police Vehicle

A 17-year-old and 25-year-old man have been arrested in west Belfast after the stolen car they were driving in hit a police car.

The incident occurred before 10:00 on the morning of Sunday 17 February after police were called over a car doing handbrake turns in the area.

The car had been reported stolen from the Newtownards Road the evening before.

L'Derry Homes Evacuated Over Hoax Device

Residents in the Ballmagroarty area of L’Derry have been forced to leave their homes following a bomb alert.

The alert was issued on the Aileach Road at about 22:00 on Saturday evening.

A suspicious object had been found.

Army bomb disposal experts confirmed the object was a hoax.

Residents returned to their homes at 05:30 the next morning.

Fermanagh Flood Training Event Held

An emergency flood training exercise involving about 200 people has taken place in County Fermanagh.

The event in Lisnaskea was the largest ever held in Northern Ireland and was organised by the Fire and Rescue Service.

The 12-hour exercise simulated a range of major flooding incidents, including one operation in which people were rescued from a partially submerged car.

Colin Horner Murder: Man Arrested
A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Colin Horner. Mr Horner, 35, was fatally shot in front of his young son in a supermarket car park on Sunday, 28 May. The man was arrested in the Newtownards area on Friday, 16 June. He has been taken to Musgrave Police station for questioning.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Armed Robber Dresses As Police Officer
Police are searching for two men in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a shop in Co Armagh. Police said that one of the men who attempted to rob the shop on West Street, Portadown, was dressed as a policeman. It is understood two men entered the shop at about 10am on Thursday, one of them was carrying a suspected firearm.

Shotgun, Air Rifle And Ammunition Stolen From House In Co Antrim
Police have launched an investigation after three masked men stole a shotgun, air rifle and ammunition from a property in Larne, Co Antrim. The incident happened at a house in the Glenburn Road area at around 2.45pm on Tuesday, 16 August. A sum of money was also stolen.

Police car chase procedures criticised
Police procedures for dealing with car chases have been criticised by the Police Ombudsman, following an investigation into the death of a man two years ago. Raymond Robinson drowned in shallow water after becoming trapped under a police car in Whiteabbey, on April 24, 2004.
