Foster Welcomes Executives 'Flying Visit'
Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has recognised a substantial airline manufacturing contract by hosting a reception for senior executives of Lufthansa and B/E Aerospace in Parliament Buildings.
The B/E Aerospace seating manufacturing facility in Kilkeel recently secured an agreement with Lufthansa German Airlines to produce its business class seating for its wide-body A330 and A340 fleet. The award was previously announced by B/E Aerospace in April 2011 and is valued in excess of $100 million.
Recognising this significant contract and the work undertaken in Kilkeel by B/E Aerospace, Arlene Foster said: "Securing an agreement with one of the world’s largest airlines underlines B/E Aerospace’s first class skills and capabilities.
"B/E Aerospace’s ongoing investments have ensured the Kilkeel facility remains a competitive location for manufacturing aircraft seats and the first choice for many airlines.
"B/E Aerospace has a long and well established relationship with Lufthansa and this is evidently paying dividends for the company. I look forward to seeing continued growth in the coming years."
The B/E Aerospace facility in Kilkeel manufactures and assembles business, premium economy and economy class seating for the world’s leading airlines. It is the world leader in its market and Kilkeel is one of the main manufacturing facilities within the US firm B/E Aerospace Inc.
