Dunluce Centre to Close

A north coast visitor complex is to close.

Coleraine Borough Council has announced plans to shutdown Portrush's Dunluce Centre from mid September.

The complex featuring a simulator, laser quest, adventure playground and viewing tower was opened in 1993 to provide family entertainment during the summer months.

Described as "somewhat dated" the centre made a £187,000 loss last year.

"Over the past number of years this has resulted in declining footfall and revenue, and without significant investment to update the facilities, this will continue," said the council.

"As other recent initiatives have demonstrated, council remains fully focused on the regeneration of Portrush as a central pillar of the tourism strategy for the North Coast,"
