L'Derry To Coleraine Railway Line Opens
SDLP Foyle MP Mark Durkan has welcomed the reopening today of the new railway line between Derry and Coleraine, with scheduled services resuming on Sunday.
Mr Durkan, who is travelling into L'Derry today on the special train service which has been scheduled to celebrate the reopening, said: "I welcome the fact that the Derry-Coleraine railway line has reopened today. I also want to give credit for the job being completed on time.
"People have missed the service and were miffed about some of the funding and work calendar confusion around planning the project. All will be delighted at the service resuming on Sunday.
"This stretch of line is not just a key public transport artery but also an undervalued tourism asset which should be optimised now that the line has improved and with future improvement to come."
