Reduced Bills For NI Water Customers
NI Water has announced its customers are to see an average reduction of almost 3% in their water and sewerage charges.
It said the new charges will be reflected in bills from April.
It is understood metered customers will see a decrease in their combined water and sewerage bills of approximately 1.3%, while unmeasured customers will see their combined bills fall by approximately 3.6%.
Trevor Haslett, Chief Executive of NI Water, said the reductions had been possible in part due to the "significant sustainable cost efficiencies which have been delivered by NI Water during the Price Control 2010 period and the further savings which we have agreed to make best endeavours to deliver in 2013/14."
He added: "We are committed to providing the highest possible quality of service while constantly seeking best value for money. This work undertaken by staff at all levels in the company has enabled us to pass on savings made to our customers."
The charges for the 2013/14 year have been agreed by the Utility Regulator in conjunction with the Consumer Council for Northern Ireland (CCNI).

NI Cuts 'Can Be Delayed', Says PM
The new PM David Cameron has confirmed that the NI Assembly can make its own mind up about when to implement impending financial cutbacks. Although he noted that NI would have to shoulder its share of UK-wide cuts and said, "the longer the debt was left, the worse the problem becomes" it is clear the cuts could be deferred.
