Kieran McManus Murder: Police Revisit Scene
Detectives from PSNI's Serious Crime Branch investigating the murder of Kieran McManus have been revisiting two major scenes as part of a renewed information gathering process.
26-year-old Mr McManus, from west Belfast, died after being shot outside a Domino's pizza outlet at the DC Enterprise Centre near Kennedy Way on Saturday 30 March.
Police say Mr McManus was shot by a man who got out of a maroon coloured Vauxhall Astra car at 23:20.
Despite the efforts of ambulance crews at the scene, he was pronounced dead at hospital.
The Astra car was abandoned and burnt out in Denewood Park off the Andersonstown Road a short time later.
On Friday evening, police brought Mr McManus's silver Passat car back to the car park at the Enterprise Centre and placed a similar maroon Astra car in the Enterprise Centre before driving it to the fire scene at Denewood Park.
Detectives handed out leaflets to members of the community who were at the Enterprise Centre and to passing motorists at the two locations.
Detectives are asking the community for any information about the maroon Astra car, before or after the shooting. They are also keen to hear from anyone who saw any other vehicles in Denewood Park that Saturday night between 23:00 and midnight.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Justyn Galloway said: "Kieran worked as a pizza delivery driver, trying to earn a living for his family. This was a ruthless and wreckless attack, given the number of people in the area at the time.
"We are still keeping an open mind about who was responsible for killing Kieran and why they did it. We are following a number of lines of enquiry.
"Those responsible for this ruthless murder will only be brought before the courts if people with information work with police.
"We have issued two appeal leaflets which are available online. Please read them and help us if you can.
"We are keen to speak with anyone who may have any information which can assist us and we would urge members of the public to contact detectives at Newtownards police station on 028 9180 1507. Alternatively, anyone wishing to pass information anonymously can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
