Man Charged Over Rape Of Child

A 25-year-old man has been charged with the sexual abuse of a child and two counts of rape.

The charges are thought to include sexual grooming, sexual activity with a child between 13 and 16 years and trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation.

He is due to appear at court in Armagh.

Foyle Rescue Team Recover Body

A body has been discovered in the River Foyle by a crew from the Foyle Search and Rescue team.

The team was looking for missing Dublin teenager Kieran McKeon on Thursday evening, when police alerted them to the discovery.

No details about the identity of the body have yet been released.

18-year-old Mr McKeon has been missing since 14 March, when he was last seen with his friend Alexandra O'Brien at a hotel in L'Derry.

Man Charged Over Historical Abuse

A 79-year-old man has been charged with a total of 21 offences; including seven of indecent assault and gross indecency, seven of cruelty and seven of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The charges relate to historical offences that occurred in the Downpatrick and greater Belfast areas between 1966 and the present. The offences were against a number of people.

The accused will appear at Downpatrick Court on 6 June 2013.

Peace Bridge To Close Temporarily

The Peace Bridge in L'Derry is to be closed for three separate half hour periods on Sunday 12 May to accommodate the Wild Walls Cycle event in the city centre.

The bridge will be closed between 09.45 and 10.45; 12.15 and 12.45 and again from 14.45 to 15.15.

The Wild Walls Cycle is a three-in-one biking event by local adventure company Far and Wild.

It will take place throughout Sunday and will include the Peace Bridge and a section of the Walled City in its route.

Organisers have apologised for any inconvenience caused.

NI Executive And Irish Govt To Review Narrow Water Bridge Project
The NI Executive and the Irish Government have agreed to undertake a review of the Narrow Water Bridge project, the Finance Minister has confirmed. Minister Máirtín Ó Muilleoir visited the site and met with local representatives to discuss the project.

Officer: 'Only Option Was To Shoot'
A police officer has told an inquest he had no option but to shoot when he was confronted with a robber at a petrol station. 29-year-old Marc Alexander Ringland died in hospital after being shot in the chest by the officer. He had carried out the robbery at a petrol station on the Albert bridge Road in east Belfast last February.

Woman’s Body Pulled From Lough As Tragic Bridge Fall Body Found
Separate drowning tragedies have been reported over the weekend as a woman's body was recovered from a lough in Co Down, while the remains of a man were pulled from the River Foyle in Londonderry.

Recovered Body Named As Missing L'Derry Man
A body recovered from the River Foyle has been identified as that of missing L'Derry man Andrew Quigley. Mr Quigley (20), from Galliagh estate in the city, was reported missing on January 18, when he did not return home from a night out. A mobile phone and wallet belonging to Mr Quigley were found on the Foyle Bridge.
