Shots Fired At PSNI
Alliance Policing Board member Trevor Lunn MLA has expressed his concern at reports that shots were fired in the vicinity of police officers who were responding to a bogus call of a burglary in the Foxes Glen area of Dunmurry on Thursday afternoon.
MR Lunn MLA said: "I am very concerned at what appears to have been an attempt to lure police officers into a trap. We are just lucky that nobody were hurt in this incident. This just reminds us of the need to show extra vigilance, especially during the G8 when there will be a heightened security level.
"The PSNI are there to protect the public and to uphold the rule of law. Any attack on them is an attack on our society.
"If anybody has any information about this incident then I would urge them to contact the police."

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Police link hostage incident to attack on police station
Police have linked a gun attack on a police station on Wednesday night with a hostage incident in Co Antrim. A van used in the shooting of Randalstown PSNI station on Wednesday evening is believed to have been the vehicle stolen earlier in the evening from a family who were held hostage by a gang of men at a house in Craigstown Road in the town.

The growing number of empty shops across NI is causing concerns. Last week, it was revealed that more than one in 10 town and city centre shops across the UK were vacant at the end of May with NI having an even worse rate closer to two in 10 - or more than 17%.

Man Arrested After Body Found In Lisburn
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was discovered in a car in Lisburn. A man was found dead in the Limehurst Way area at around 4.20pm on Monday, 26 September. Police are treating the death as suspicious. A post-mortem is to be carried out to determine the cause of death.
