£150k Investment For Portstewart Refurb
Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland has unveiled a £150k for a revitalisation scheme in Portstewart.
The scheme will enhance the appearance of buildings along the resort's promenade and the Diamond area of the town. Mr McCausland added that the work would not only appeal to residents and tourists visiting the town, but it would also help existing businesses improve their trade and subsequently create opportunities for further investment.
The project will focus on shop front improvements, new signage, floral displays and a marketing and promotional campaign to help highlight what Portstewart has to offer.
The Mayor of Coleraine, Councillor Sam Cole welcomed the investment, adding: "This investment aims to sustain the momentum of effective regeneration in Portstewart. We have seen in Portrush how this type of scheme can have an immediate positive impact and we believe this success can be replicated in Portstewart."
Coleraine Borough Council will manage the scheme, which will then be delivered by the traders and local representatives of the town.
