Michaela Photo Editor Fined £1,000
The Mauritian newspaper editor who published photos of the body of Michaela McAreavey has been fined the equivalent of £1,000.
Imraan Hosany was found guilty on Wednesday of outrage to religious and public morality after the country's Sunday Times published photographs of the crime scene and of Ms McAreavey's body.
A fine of 50,000 Mauritian rupees has been imposed on Mr Hosany by Magistrate Wendy Rangan. He had faced either a fine of 100,000 or a sentence of up to two years in prison.
27-year-old Michaela McAreavey, from County Tyrone, was murdered in a hotel on her honeymoon in Mauritius in January 2011.
On 15 July the following year, the Mauritian Sunday Times published pictures showing the crime scene, Ms McAreavey's body and her injuries.
Mr Hosany was arrested three days later.
The pictures were initially taken just after the murder, but weren't published until after the acquittal of two men, Avinash Treebhoowon and Sandip Moneea, for the murder.
Ms McAreavey was known in GAA circles in Ireland as the daughter of Mickey Harte, manager of the Tyrone football team.

Pope Appoints Apostolic Administrator
Bishop Philip Boyce has been appointed apostolic administrator for Dromore. The Pope made the appointment after Bishop John McAreavey resigned earlier this month over celebrating Mass alongside a priest who he knew was a paedophile. The late Fr Malachy Finegan has been accused of sexual abuse by 12 people. Bishop Boyce is originally from Donegal.

Attorney General To Examine Papers Of Michaela McAreavey Murder
Northern Ireland's Attorney General is to examine papers from the trial into the murder of Michaela McAreavey it has been revealed. Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness is calling for the perpetrators of the killing to be brought to justice. Mr McGunness said that there was "every prospect" of a new trial.
