EU peace funding to support economic revitalisation
Up to £3 million of European Funding has become available to support economic revitalisation through the provision of flexible workspace in Northern Ireland.
The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment has commenced advertising for projects to support the scheme which is being funded through the EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation in Northern Ireland and the Border Region of Ireland (PEACE II).
PEACE II aims to help Northern Ireland become a peaceful and stable society and to promote reconciliation in and around the Border region of Ireland.
The provision of workspace units aims to stimulate job creation through either a new build or the renovation of derelict or abandoned sites.
In addition, preference will be given to projects, which benefit areas defined as New Targeting Social Need, demonstrate partnership/consultation with the local community and complement other regeneration initiatives.
