Teenager Dies In River Fall
A 15-year-old teenager has died after falling into a river in Co Londonderry.
Emergency services were called to the Roe Valley Country Park near Limavady on Thursday around 4.30pm.
The teenager was airlifted to Altnagelvin Hospital, but a PSNI spokesperson said the boy is believed to have drowned after falling into the River Roe.
Alan Robinson, a DUP Councillor for the area, said he understood the boy had been playing in the water.
"I'm led to believe that there was a young 15-year-old who had travelled down from somewhere on up the country, the County Antrim direction, who had been playing in the water.
"There was an incident. He was removed from the water and I'm told that he subsequently died later in hospital," he confirmed.
