First Minister Welcomes Royal Birth
First Minister, the Rt. Hon. Peter D. Robinson MLA, has offered his warmest congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their son.
The First Minister said: "I congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their son. I want to extend my very best wishes to them on behalf of everyone in Northern Ireland.
"I was honoured to attend the celebration of their wedding in April 2011 and I wish them every health and happiness in the next chapter of their lives together."
Ulster Unionist Leader Mike Nesbitt MLA has also welcomed the birth of their son.
He said: "This is brilliant news for William & Kate, and all the Royal Family. First and foremost it is great to hear that Mother and child are both well, and we wish the new parents all the very best. The United Kingdom can now enjoy the next few days as we celebrate the birth of the latest addition to the Royal Family."

Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, has given birth to a baby boy. The Duchess was admitted to Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital early on Monday morning. Posting to Twitter, Kensington Palace, said that the latest additional to the Royal Family "was safely delivered at 1101hrs". They continued: "The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz.

There are opposing views today on the extent of a 'crisis' facing Craigavon Area Hospital's maternity unit. Almost a year after the issue was last raised, the midwifery professional body, the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), is again at odds with the officials on staffing levels in the top Co Armagh hospital.

Maternity Plans Conceived
Key proposals for an expansion of maternity services at Craigavon Area Hospital have been announced. NI Health Minister Michael McGimpsey revealed his plans to develop maternity services in the Southern Trust area overall, which will allow for hundreds of additional births every year at Craigavon.
