Man Dies In Stabbing Attack

A man has died after being stabbed at a house in Dungannon, Co Tyrone.

Police are investigating the death, which occurred at a house in Woodvale Park early this morning.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

Man Arrested After Hospital Theft

A man has been charged following a burglary at a hospital in Antrim in June.

The theft happened at Steeple Road.

The 23-year-old accused has also been charged with a burglary at a house at Andraid Close in the town.

He will appear before Antrim Magistrates' Court on 28 August.

Workers Shaken After 'Gun' Robbery

Staff at a business in the Hillsborough Road area of Carryduff have been left uninjured but shaken, after a man pointed a suspected gun at them during a robbery.

The incident happened at about 3.10pm yesterday.

Police have said the man was wearing a red hooded top and balaclava and demanded the contents of the till.

Three Convicted Of Benefit Fraud

Three people have been convicted of benefit fraud at Belfast Magistrates' Court.

Wayne Roulston (30) of Clara Way, Belfast claimed Jobseekers Allowance, Incapacity Benefit and Housing Benefit totalling £2,769 while failing to declare employment.

He was given 100 hours community service and ordered to pay court costs of £52.

Kevin Gray (27) of Fairyknowe Park, Newtownabbey claimed Jobseekers Allowance and Employment and Support Allowance totalling £3,665 while failing to declare employment.

He was given 200 hours community service and ordered to pay court costs of £37.

Martina McAdorey (31) of Bawnmore Drive, Newtownabbey claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £4,244 while failing to declare employment.

She was given a two month prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay court costs of £34.

Suspended Prison Term For Fraudster
Nine people were convicted of benefit fraud at Belfast Magistrates' court this week for claiming benefits they were not entitled to - with one handed a jail term. Colin McGookin (52) of Sheringhurst Park, Belfast claimed Income Support, Incapacity Benefit and Disability Living Allowance totalling £25,168 while failing to declare employment.

Benefit Fraudsters Handed Jail Sentences
People from different areas of NI have been sentenced to terms of imprisonment and fines for defrauding the Government over benefits being claimed illegally. As part of a continuing crackdown, three people were convicted at Craigavon Magistrates' court on Monday for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.

Named And Shamed: Frauds Pay Penalty
A dozen people have been caught fiddling the benefits' system in Northern Ireland. All have been identified on the Department of Social Development's (DSD) own website - a new development - and have had their details circulated to the local media in each of the areas concerned.

£22,096 Benefit Fraudsters Convicted
Three benefit fraudsters have been convicted of claiming a total of £22,096 they were not entitled to. All three will have to repay the sums to the Social Security Agency. The biggest sum claimed was by a County Down man.
