DUP Councillor Arrested Over 'Massacre' Comments
DUP Councillor Ruth Paterson is being held over comments she made that appear to endorse a paramilitary style attack on a proposed civilian parade through Castlederg on 11 August.
The march is in memory of Seamus Harvey and Gerard McGlynn: two IRA men who were killed 40 years ago when a bomb they were carrying accidentally exploded.
Unionists have appealed to the Parades Commission to ban the march; however the Commission does not possess the powers to undertake such a decision.
Ms Patterson made headlines yesterday when she responded to a post made by a loyalist Facebook user that advocated an attack on the parade. The post imagined the attack would use "rocket launchers, handguns and grenades" and would kill a number of Sinn Féin politicians, including deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness, Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams, Mid Ulster MP Francie Molloy and Northern Ireland MEP Martina Anderson.
In her response, Ms Patterson is reported to have written: "who cares how we would be judged, we would have done a great service to Northern Ireland and the world by getting rid of these evil, devious scum like individuals who bombed and murdered their way into government."

PM Praises NI Over G8 Summit
Prime Minister David Cameron has praised Northern Ireland, labelling the G8 summit as the most peaceful in recent memory. Mr Cameron also said the region was an "inspiration to the world". His comments were made at the end of the two-day event held in Co Fermanagh, which ended with the signing of the Lough Erne Declaration.

Man Injured In Paramilitary-Style Attack
A man has been injured in a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast. The assault happened in the Norglen Parade area just after 9pm on sunday, 17 September. The victim, aged is his 30s, was shot in the hands and legs and is currently being treated in hospital. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
