Appeal Over Glengormley Hijacking
The PSNI is appealing for information following an assault and a hijacking in the Mayfield Road and Mayfield Avenue areas of Glengormley yesterday evening.
At about 18:15 police received a report that three men, one armed with a hammer, had entered a house at Mayfield Road and assaulted a man.
The men then left and are believed to have hijacked a green coloured Ford Fiesta car in Mayfield Avenue.
The car was found on fire in the Rosapenna Court area of north Belfast a short time later.
One of the males was described as being around 6' tall of medium build and was wearing a grey coloured hooded top. The second was also around 6' tall and of medium build. The third man involved was wearing a black top and bottoms and a baseball cap.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them at Newtownabbey police station on 0845 600 8000.
Police Uncover £15k Cannabis
Police have recovered approximately £15,000 worth of herbal cannabis and cannabis resin during a search in Greenisland, County Antrim, yesterday.
A suspected firearm, ammunition and a hoax pipe bomb type device were also discovered during the search in Glenkeen Avenue.
Two males aged 23 and 22 were arrested in connection with the search.
PSNI Called Over Dunmurry Stone Attacks
The PSNI has been called to the Dunmurry area, following reports of young people throwing stones at buses.
Officers were called to the Bell Steele Road at about 15:30 yesterday.
Translink had to withdraw a some services from the area for a time.
Man Threatened Outside Church
A man and his family have been threatened by another man at knifepoint outside a church in Alfred Street, Belfast.
The man was approached by the unknown suspect at about 19:00 and asked for the time.
The victim then got his phone out to check and was threatened with a knife and told to hand over his belongings.
The would-be thief then ran off after the man shouted that the police were behind him.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man Dies In Co L'Derry House Fire
A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing man Declan Mawhinney has been found safe and well, according to the police. Mr Mawhinney, 46, went missing from Letterkenny on Saturday at approximately 11.40pm. A missing person appeal was launched by the police and his family. He was located in Letterkenny on Tuesday. Police thank the public for their assistance.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The suspect was detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 12 April, and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.
